Making October Franciscan Month

This October, the Franciscan Family in the US invites you to join us in celebrating something new: Franciscan Month. Inspired by the 800th anniversary of the Canticle of Creation, Franciscan Month is a time to reflect on our shared kinship with all of God’s creation, to live the Gospel more deeply, and to walk in the footsteps of St. Francis.

The mission of Franciscan Month 2025 is to celebrate the charism of the Franciscan way of life and provide perspective on living this way in today’s world. Its vision is for people of all ages to know October as Franciscan Month and to make the choice to live a more Franciscan way of life in the spirit of St. Francis and St. Clare all year around.

The Month’s theme is building a world of kinship while recognizing our connectedness within our common home—one family in solidarity and community, fraternitas, and harmony—in the spirit of Francis and Clare. You can follow Franciscan Month on social media to share the content and message!
